Simple Everyday Makeup Look

I am a total Makeup Newbie but, thanks to my makeup loving friends, I am starting to look less like a three year old who played in her mom’s makeup bag and more like a teenager who took a class at Sephora a year ago and just found her favorite lip-gloss in the bottom of her purse. BABY STEPS.

I have a few guidelines when it comes to my makeup look. It has to be quickly applied, it has to be work appropriate, and it has to be cruelty-free. (If you are ever wondering if your product is tested on animals, here is a great post on Cruelty Free Kitty!)

Based on those three checkpoints, below are my favorite products that I use everyday to look just like this! (If you are looking for skin care tips, visit our skincare while traveling post!)

Foundation:

I laaaaaahve It Cosmetics! The CC cream is moisturizing, has great coverage and has an incredible 50 SPF. I burn soooo easily so this is perfect for me. They have a few different choices: Original, Illuminator, and Matte. I am a huge fan of the Illumination because I like sparkly and pink, I can’t help it. I also have incredibly dry skin but if you have more combo or oily skin, I have heard incredible things about the Matte!

Eyes:

First off, I’m a convert to the lash serums and the Lash Boost from Rodan and Fields has completely transformed my life. #notanad. I was obsessed with wearing fake eyelashes but could not FOR THE LIFE OF ME apply them by myself and now that’s no longer needed! The price tag ($150 per tube) can be daunting but it lasts me about 10-12 weeks! My Fav mascara of all time is Tarte Better Than Sex and I loooooove the Anastasia Beverly Hills Gel Eye Liner. Speaking of this brand….

Brows:

I think if I had to go to a deserted island and only bring one makeup item, I might have to choose my Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil ( I use Chocolate). This pencil combined with regular waxing and shaping appointments is my go to for natural looking filled in brows! One day I might have the guts and monet to try microblading but this works for me as of now!

Lips:

Other than using lip masks religiously, I like to keep my lips pretty simple. I always go for lip glosses with a wand and am recently loving the NYX Slip Tease Lip Oil in “I Woke Up Like This”. It’s enough to show but not bright enough to notice a huge smudge or weird line. If I am going to be wearing it most of the day (instead of chapstick when I am just working in my office) I will also use the Anastasia Lip Primer to keep from getting too dry throughout the day.

There’s my very simple everyday makeup routine! What are some of your favorite cruelty free makeup items? I’m starting to branch out as I get more comfortable!
